
Just talking it out with someone else is helpful. I don't see any point to spending time trying to do it a certain way if I ended up with the result that I wanted without spending too much time on it. I'm sure that there is the right combination of options to select when importing to accomplish event only import, but this view approach was quick. Exported from Outlook and imported back in, it did the same thing as moving: I ended up with a separate calendar. That'll save the step of removing the calendar later since after the migration is done, the iCloud account will be disconnected. A can just do the views -> move thing directly. As for the rest of the users, I can bypass the step of first moving the iCloud calendar into the Outlook account. My initial hesitance to drag and drop was based on the assumption that I would not be able to grab everything in one fell swoop.
